You may think that professional organizing is all about finding a physical space for your items. But what if we told you that Personal “organization” was just as important?
The ability to declutter your mind before bedtime is just as important as the ability to organize your home or office…if not more so. Here are our Top 10 Tips to help you Believe in a Better Bedtime Routine:
1) Set a "bedtime alarm."
Stick to a specific hour each night to prepare for restful sleep. Try to maintain this time on weekends as well. Routine is key.
2) Eat at least an hour before bed and avoid spicy/junk foods.
This will decrease discomfort and trips to the restroom.
3) Exercise earlier in the day.
This gives your body time to relax and wind down.
4) Come up with a relaxing bedtime routine.
Read, pray, or listen to soothing music.
5) Pick out the "right" pillow for you.
Make sure it is supportive but comfortable.
6) Shut off electronics (phone, computer, tv) 2 hours before bed.
The light confuses the brain into thinking its a.m. not p.m.
7) Try to maintain a cooler temperature.
Your body will be in a calmer and more restful state.
8) Review your day and accomplishments.
Think of one thing each night to be grateful for.
9) Utilize some calming breathing techniques.
This can accompany a simple trick like counting sheep or reciting a slow meditation to yourself.
