Believe in a Better…Wake Up Routine

1-Place your alarm clock or phone a good distance away from you. Therefore, you are forced to get out of bed to turn it off.
2-Avoid hitting snooze.
Disrupted sleep confuses your brain chemistry and causes disorientation and grogginess. This negatively affects your memory, attention and comprehension.
3-Come up with something that excites you, something positive to look forward to waking up earlier for.
Such as extra time for prayer, meditation, reading, writing, exercise, music, or being with your loved ones.
4-Spring out of bed thankful for another day.
Do 10 jumping jacks or 10 pushups to get your blood flowing and stretch for another 5 minutes.
5-Consume a glass of water.
You are most dehydrated when you first wake up. Water stimulates brain activity and awakens your senses.
6-Turn on some light music.
Music increases brain flow, blood flow, mood and creativity
7-Gradually change to an earlier wakeup time.
Set your alarm 15 minutes earlier for 5 consecutive days.
Repeat cycle for another 15 minutes earlier until you reach your desired time.
*For long term effect, avoid drastic time changes that your body can’t sustain.
8-Believe in better.
Believe in yourself. Have confidence and drive in your decision. Believe that changing your routine will produce a better you!
